EV Safety Mat

EV Safety Mat

Rhino Switchboard Mats for the “if” in life.

Yes, it is possible to be electrocuted by an electric car charger. Electric car chargers carry high-voltage electricity, typically 240 volts or more, which can light you up.

The high voltage in an electric car charger can cause severe electric shocks, burns, and even cardiac arrest if a person comes into direct contact with the live electrical components.

This risk is especially high if the charger is damaged, improperly installed, or if safety features fail. Damaged cords, exposed terminals, or moisture can increase the chance of electrocution.

Electric shocks do happen, but to reduce the severity of the injury, use recommended basic electrical safety measures, and an electrically insulating (Rhino Switchboard) mat when connecting or disconnecting power cables and energizing.
